Introductions

First Optic is independently run and owned by Optometrists Patrick Round and Keith Coakham . Our staff include manager, Hannah and optical advisors Lisa, Beth and Karen.

The practice is located in the market town of Brecon in Mid-Wales and offers a friendly and relaxed environment for all the family.

Our services and examinations (which last 30 minutes) include the Primary Eye Care Acute Referral Scheme for emergencies, Wales Eye care Initiative Examination, Low Vision Assessments, Digital Retinal Imaging (click here) , glaucoma assessments (including gonioscopy where appropriate), dry eye treatments, macular degeneration diagnosis (and subsequent advice on risk factors and treatments), wet macular degeneration fast track scheme, the fitting of all types of contact lenses including bifocal and toric lenses, safety spectacles, prescription diving masks and lots more.

All our staff are trained to the highest degree and are able to offer advice in many subjects including frame selection and spectacle lens choice.
