Practice news 6/10/09 Optometrist Patrick Round passed his Low Vision Reaccreditation 28/1/09 Optometrist Patrick Round has passed his Part 2 Low Vision Exams and is now qualified to conduct Low Vision Assessments. November 2008 and January 2008 Optometrists Patrick Round underwent his Part 1 Low Vision Training in November and will be taking his Part 2 Low Vision training and examinations in January 2009. 22/7/08 A great day! Congratulations Keith! He's passed his Professional Qualifying Examinations and is now a fully fledged Optometrist! 5/7/08 Patrick Round passes his W.E.H.E. re-accrediation examination Optometrist Patrick Round has been re-accredited to perform the Wales Eye Health Examination and Primary Acute Referral Scheme Examination having successfully passed his exams! 20/4/08 Introduction of the glaucoma assessment First Optic have introduced a glaucoma assessment for patients at risk. This involves retinal photography, field analysis, contact tonometry (a type of pressure test), gonioscopy (assessment of the drainage channel for the internal fluid of the eye), and optic nerve sizing and assessment. Cost £45.00 19/4/08 Reaccreditation and Low Vision Training Optometrist Patrick Round is currently undergoing reaccreditation for the Wales Eye care examination to ensure he is up to date with current protocol and knowledge. From September 2008, First Optic will be offering full low vision assessments. To be able to offer this, Patrick is currently undergoing training and examinations in the field of Low Vision. 3/2/08 Motivated Hannah! Optical Advisor Hannah Shepherd is about to embark on an NVQ Level 2 in customer service! 1/9/07 Congratulations Keith! Partner Keith Coakham has successfully completed his Optometry degree in Bradford with a 1st Class Honours! After further training and exams as a pre-registration student in 2008, the practice will be offering 6 days a week eye care all year round and extra services including home visits, low vision assessments and orthokeratology (a non-invasive alternative to laser vision correction).
